The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), Annual Conference and Awards are back, and this time it’s going hybrid at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, Manchester, UK from 13-15 September 2023. This year’s conference will be jam-packed with fascinating sessions on a wide range of topics, including Open Science and Open Access, researcher behavior, diversity in commissioning, and much more!Sessions will cover angles including open data, books, small societies, and equitable OA models. Attendees can also look forward to an Industry Leaders “question time” panel featuring experts from across the publishing industry.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Elizabeth Gadd, Research Policy Manager at Loughborough University, will present on ‘Future Trends in Responsible Research Evaluation’. As Chair of the International Network of Research Management Societies (INORMS) Research Evaluation Group and Vice Chair of the Coalition on Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), Lizzie is an expert in her field. In 2022, she co-authored the UKRI-commissioned report, ‘Harnessing the Metric Tide: Indicators, Infrastructures & Priorities for UK Research Assessment’.
